The secret to a great headshot, or portrait is much more than having a fancy camera and lens and pressing the shutter button. The camera is just a box, albeit, a light sensitive box. It is impersonal, non judgemental and has no opinion about what's in front of it. Because of this, I'm absolutely fascinated why many people are intimidated by having their photograph taken.
A great headshot is a relationship between the subject and the photographer.
Empathy, rapport and trust are at the heart of a great session that results in what I consider to be magical images that capture the true and authentic expression of my clients. This relationship becomes a ballet, a dance in the conversation between me, you, my camera and the most elusive element of all, the light.
I consider it a real privilege to be hired to shoot your portrait – my commitment to you is that I will do my utmost to put you at ease, make you feel comfortable and actually enjoy the process.
My sessions usually last around two hours, I actually enjoy and prefer working in natural light and time of day is critical to achieving good quality in terms of light and the final image.
From the images below, I hope you can feel the expression of my clients from theses shots.
